The next new thing in terms of new media is to adopt virtual world into social networking sites, like
Facebook and
LinkedIn. If
Facebook adds second life application, users can easily interacting with their friends or even someone they don't know through virtual world,
similar to the way they are interacting with each other in real life. For instance, someone can have a afternoon tea with their friends in England and then shopping with some one else in France. They can also going to the club and meeting some new F
acebook friends. On the other hand,
LinkedIn can adopt second life into their site by providing a virtual interview room for the job applicants and recruiters.
That is very interesting. I, too, feel that would very well be the next thing. It's very web 2.0 in a sense it allows interaction and communication between different people on-line. Social experiences online have really taken on-line communication to the next level and will continue to drive such innovation going forward. Whether its for professional or personal the next new thing will be in the social media area.
ReplyDeleteI agree. This is a very interesting idea.
ReplyDeleteConverging social networking websites into Second Life and vice versa naturally makes sense. It will further intertwine the connections between real life, virtual life, and online social networking life.
This reminds me of that "The Office" clip where Dwight has a Second Second Life account. Because, like... usually, people use Facebook to connect with their real life friends, right? Now, you can add virtual life into there too.
